Zsuzsanna Elekes, Leader of Research Group
I am a professor at the Institute of Sociology and Social Policy of Corvinus University of Budapest (CUB). I have spent most of my career at the Institute. I began to study deviant behaviours as a student of Hungarian sociologist Rudolf Andorka, and later I became a colleague of him. Thanks to him I could take part in several research projects on deviant behaviour in the 1980s - the classic era in Hungary of researching the field. At the same time, I had the opportunity to join the international research scene at an early age. I find my membership in The Kettil Bruun Society for Social and Epidemiological Research on Alcohol important, because it has allowed me to meet the most distinguished members of international research on risk behaviours. As a result, I have participated in numerous international research projects. I believe my work in ESPAD - European School Survey Project on Alcohol and Other Drugs, both a programme and a professional community, has been significant. From the very beginning, since 1995, I have been the Principal Investigator of the current series of research projects in Hungary. I regularly give lectures on deviant and risk behaviours at CUB and other universities.
My aim with forming the Research Group was to fill research gaps in order to reveal and understand the social patterns, characteristics, causes and interrelations of risk behaviours.

Petra Arnold, Researcher
I graduated in sociology and economics from Corvinus University of Budapest. I continued my studies at the PhD Programme in sociology of ELTE Faculty of Social Sciences. I earned my PhD in 2018. I won a scholarship to the Summer University ‘Qualitative Drug Research’ in Amsterdam organized by ESSD. It has been almost fifteen years that I have been working as a researcher studying deviant behaviours, focusing on drug and alcohol use. I have participated in several research projects in Hungary and internationally, at universities, state institutions and NGOs (ex. HBSC, COREPOL, OLAAP). In recent years I have been involved in research of other fields, such as youth and Roma. I am an expert in both quantitative and qualitative methods. I am specialized in population surveys, media analysis, focus groups and post-adolescence.
In the Research Group I am responsible for the qualitative research (focus group, in-depth interviews), small and large sample surveys, media analysis and online research. My job includes elaborating the research design, preparing data collection, fieldwork, analysis and publication. I am responsible for risk behaviours. Also, I am the website content writer of the team.

Krisztina Gedó, administrative officer
I graduated in 2005 from the Eszterházy Károly College in pedagogy, specializing in developmental pedagogy. I have been working at the Corvinus University of Budapest and its legal predecessor institutions since September 1993, briefly interrupting this period of time – almost three decades. Here, at the university, I started working as a department lecturer at the Department of Foreign Trade of the Faculty of Economics, then in 2000, due to the institutional transformation process at the time, I was transferred to the Department of International Relations of the Faculty of Social Sciences. In the summer of 2003, I received an invitation to the position of the Head of the Academic Registrar’s Office at János Harsányi College, which I accepted, thereby increasing my professional experience. At the beginning of 2005, I was called back to Corvinus, to the then Department of Sociology and Social Policy. Basically, my responsibility was providing full educational support and taking care of the related areas, but I also worked as the head of the institute's secretariat for longer or shorter periods of time. During the new institutional transformations, from the beginning of 2020 to the beginning of July 2022, I continued my work at the Institute of Communication and Sociology. I currently work as a project coordinator in the Corvinus Institute for Advanced Studies (CIAS) – an organizational unit of the university. During my decades-long career, I worked in several international and domestic tender projects, helping my colleagues, professors and researchers, from the administrative side.
As the Research Group's administrative officer, I provide administrative support to the researchers, thereby helping their work. My duties include, for example, the management and processing of contracts, assignments, and records.

Miklós Hajdu, Researcher
I am a student of the Sociology PhD Programme and at the same time giving lectures on statistics as an assistant lecturer at the Institute of Sociology and Social Policy of Corvinus University of Budapest (CUB). I graduated in survey-statistics from ELTE Faculty of Social Sciences in 2014. During my university years I was a member of Robert Angelusz College of Social Sciences. I am particularly interested in solving methodological and statistical problems. Besides that, I have participated in various research projects on economic sociology.
I currently also work as a data journalist at a Hungarian portal specialized in economics called G7.hu. Between 2012 and 2018 I had worked as an analyst at the Institute for Economic and Enterprise Research. As of 2015 I have been involved in the work of the Corruption Research Centre Budapest, besides working together with other academic research groups.
In the Research Group I deal primarily with the processing and statistical analysis of quantitative data. I also contribute to the development and the conduction of surveys.

Ágoston Horváth, Researcher
I am a student of the Sociology Programme at the PhD School of ELTE Faculty of Social Sciences. In my dissertation I examine higher education students' paths based on administrative data. I obtained both my BA degree in Sociology and my MA degree in Survey statistics at ELTE. Currently, I work as an analyst at the Institute for Economic and Enterprise Research. I participate in research on the labour market, vocational training and applied economics. Between 2015 and 2018 I was a higher education analyst at Educatio Nonprofit Ltd. and at the Education Authority. I analysed the questionnaire module of the Graduate Career Tracking System and the data of the EUROSTUDENT international student survey, respectively. In the course of my research work I have mainly dealt with fresh graduates entering the labour market, the relationship between students' career paths and the labour market, and the methodological problems of data collection on graduate career tracking.
In the Research Group, I mainly investigate changes in high school students' drug use patterns and their socio-demographic context based on ESPAD data. To do this, I first make a link between the Hungarian data recordings so far, based on the review of the related methodological procedures. In addition, I participate in macro-statistical data collection and analysis on alcohol consumption.

Kitti Kutrovátz, Researcher
I got my MA degree in Sociology at the Corvinus University of Budapest in 2013. I am a PhD candidate at the Sociology PhD School of CUB. Family sociology and time use in families are main issues in which I was interested during my graduate studies, and I have worked on several Hungarian and international projects related to the topic. In my doctoral research, I examine the time spent by parents and their adolescent children together, with particular focus on subjective perceptions and the effects of modern technology use. The research is based on mixed methods. As a fellow of the Institute of Sociology and Social Policy at Corvinus University (CUB), I have been working on the project "Race Against Time" funded by the National Research, Development and Innovation Office (NKIFH K120086). I won a scholarship to the New National Excellence Programme for the academic year 2018-2019. In recent years I have participated in numerous Hungarian and international conferences. My publications have been published in Hungarian and English.
My role in the Research Group is primarily research on leisure time and the use of information and communication technologies (ICT). I am mainly involved in the preparation of qualitative studies, data collection, and related analysis and dissemination. I take an active part in conducting focus group and interview research and analysing the content of online interfaces. Also, I participate in online questionnaire research.
